Open eTwinning - Unit 3 MY DRAFT

DRAFT – COLLABORATIVE PROJECT

TITLE: EDUCATION: COMPARE AND LEARN

This project is aimed at knowing the different education systems in Europe and compare them. Students can reflect on their subjects and give their opinions about them. The final goal of the project is to develop a critical thinkind and debate among students about what subjects are considered important in their studies and why. Finally they will agree on the creation of a Common European Curriculum according to their final conclusions.

CURRICULAR INTEGRATION:
·         All subjects can participate
      Partners: 4 or 5 countries.
·         Aimed at Secondary Education
·         Language: English
·         Time: 1 school year (students will dedicate between 1 and 3 hours per week to the project divided into the subjects involved)

METHODOLOGY
ü How education is achieved in different countries.
ü Education systems in Europe.
ü Running education at schools
ü Reflexion on the subjects offered at schools and their importance.
ü  Know the different Education systems in Europe.
ü  Compare education systems in Europe.
ü  Know and compare the different subjects taught at schools.
- Learning to learn fostering autonomous learning in decision making and searching of information.
- Learn collaborative work working in groups, dividing work and sharing information.
ü Use TwinSpace to exchange information.
ü Use TwinSpace to make videoconferences.
ü Create a wikiSpace to share information of the project.
ü Create an e-book comparing some education systems in Europe.


·         Evaluation: The project will be integrated into the different curricula of the subjects involved through the achievement of one or various learning standards or assessed contents.

COMMUNICATION AND COLLABORATION
  • Students will work in groups of 4 to create the materials.
  • Students will also work in mixed nationality groups to create the materials.
  • Students will collaborate with other partners by means of the TwinSpace and a wikispace to share information.
  • Teachers will also collaborate with other partners facilitating materials and helping students.


USE OF TECHNOLOGY

The different teachers involved in the project will select the ICT used for the students such as infographic tools, video creation tools, sound tools, etc... which will be available for the students in their TwinSpace.
Students can add and use other ICT tools that they like or can suit the project.

RESULTS, IMPACT AND DISTRIBUTION

The project will be evaluated at different levels:
  • Ø  Students: by means of questionnaires and rubrics.
  • Ø  Teachers: by means of questionnaires and rubrics.


The feedback of the project will be showed in a kind of e-book shared by all the members and the activities will be also showed in the school websites.
